Abstract
Conventional building construction produces negative impacts on the environment. The energy required to build, operate and maintain conventional buildings creates a large carbon footprint, making it necessary to implement green building concepts. The aim of this research is to test how effective the performance of the residential block building for the class II B Rumbai narcotics correctional institution is, especially on the criteria of saving energy, water and materials and also to provide optimization recommendations on criteria that do not meet green building standards according to the EDGE application. The method used in this research uses a quantitative method by carrying out simulations via the EDGE 3.0 application. The research was carried out by collecting secondary data from the selected research object, namely the Mako Lanal Dumai Building. Secondary data used is in the form of working drawings (as built drawings), 3D SketchUp documents and other supporting documents. Secondary data processing uses the AutoCAD and Sketchup application programs and the EDGE 3.0 green building assessment tool. From the results of research according to the EDGE 3.0 application, water use in the residential block building for the Class IIB Rumbai Narcotics Correctional Institution only reached -8.42% water efficiency level. These results indicate that the Class IIB Rumbai Narcotics Correctional Institution residential block building does not meet the minimum standard requirements to obtain green building certification according to EDGE (20%) on water saving criteria. The residential block building for the class II B Rumbai narcotics correctional institution obtained energy efficiency results of 20.27%, water efficiency of - 8.42%, and energy efficiency of material elements of 69.00%. Optimization recommendations can be made based on water saving criteria, the results obtained are 25.25% water efficiency level. Optimization was carried out by replacing the tap with 12 discharge to 5 discharge.
