Abstract
The common filler material used in asphalt concrete mixtures is stone dust. Many studies explore alternative fillers using natural waste (organic waste), one of which is by using pine flower ash as a partial substitute for filler in asphalt concrete mixtures. The objective of this research is to determine the influence of substituting pine flower ash filler in AC-BC mixtures. This research follows the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications, Revision 2, and utilizes the Marshall Test method. Pine flower ash mixtures used as filler substitution include 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the total filler weight. In this study, the optimum asphalt content obtained is 5.05%. The values of VIM and VMA increase with the increasing use of pine flower ash, but the VFB value decreases as the usage of pine flower ash filler in AC-BC mixtures increases. Stability values for the percentage of pine flower ash usage, from lowest to highest, are 839 Kg, 1043 Kg, 1173 Kg, 1091 Kg, and 934 Kg. Meanwhile, the flow values for all percentages of pine flower ash filler usage, 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%, remain within the limits specified in the 2018 Bina Marga Specifications, Revision 2.
