Abstract

The scheduling process is very important to identify the relationship between project activities, determine work priorities, and estimate realistic time. Proper scheduling is necessary to avoid project failures, such as delays that can increase costs. Repetitive projects, such as housing construction, require specialized scheduling methods. Line of Balance (LoB) is suitable for projects with repetitive work, while Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) is more detailed and suitable also for projects with repetitive work. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of scheduling in the Patih Pembangunan housing project by comparing the Line of Balance (LoB) and Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) and to determine the time efficiency that can be done with the Line of Balance (LoB) and Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) scheduling methods in housing projects. In this research, project scheduling is carried out using the Line of Balance (LoB) and Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) methods to evaluate their effectiveness on projects that have repetitive work. Existing project scheduling data is used as the basis for preparing project scheduling. The results show that in complex and repetitive housing projects, Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) is more effective than Line of Balance Method (LoB). PDM provides a comprehensive overview, critical path analysis, and time flexibility, while LoB is more suitable for repetitive projects. However, scheduling using both resulted in the same job duration of 73 days.
