Abstract

Conventionally in the construction discipline, the design process is divided into two stages, namely conceptual design or initial estimation and detailed design. Initial estimates are needed to make it easier to assess whether the dimensions and reinforcement ratios are anomalous. An anomaly in the reinforcement ratio is described as an error that occurs in the initial estimate because it does not correspond to the required reinforcement ratio as it should be. If the initial estimate of the reinforcement ratio matches the requirements, it can be said to be a normative reinforcement ratio. The aim of this research is to determine the reinforcement ratio value of various types of buildings in Pekanbaru. The method used in this research is a comparative method by analyzing the reinforcement ratio of column structural components and comparing it with several approaches or references established in this research. Data processing is assisted by Microsoft Excel software to assist analysis and present comparison results. The results of the Volume Ratio (Rv) comparison show that nothing exceeds the maximum limit from the approach or field practice reference from ronymedia.wordpress, namely 250 Kg/m³ - 350 Kg/m³ and from the book High Building Systems, namely 400 Kg/m³. In this research, it was found that all types of columns from each type of building that was the object of research were on average included in the Normative column category.
