Abstract

Land transportation is a means to make it easier for humans to carry out daily activities. Intersections are a very important part of the highway because how traffic moves depends on the intersection planning. Signal phasing generally has a major impact on the level of performance and traffic safety of an intersection. Of course, this requires vehicle traffic modeling to see the conditions of vehicle movement patterns during peak hour conditions at the intersection area. This research will use PTV Vissim software tools. PTV Vissim software serves to see the movement pattern of traffic vehicles and the performance of intersections at the Durian-Soekarno Hatta Road intersection during existing conditions. PTV Vissim software will make it easier to do intersection modeling because this PTV Vissim software can display field conditions in 2D and 3D. The results of modeling the intersection of Durian Street - Soekarno Hatta Street with PTV Vissim 20 software using peak hour volumes using default parameters are not valid, so calibration and validation must be carried out so that the modeling is valid. The calibration parameters used in this study were 39 calibrations with 5 runs of each parameter. Of the 39 parameters used, the modeling has been declared valid on 38 calibration parameters using the GEH and MAPE validation tests. After the modeling is valid, the results of the intersection modeling of Jl. Durian - Jl. Soekarno Hatta during existing conditions (3 phases) using peak hour data on Special day at 17.00-18.00 WIB produce intersection performance with the level of service of the intersection in category F with a delay value of 98 seconds, 3 phase cycle time optimization modeling including category F with a delay value of 83.8 seconds, 4 phase modeling including category F with a delay value of 113.6 seconds, 4 phase modeling with other options including category F with a delay value of 300.6 seconds, and 3 phase modeling with movement optimization including category E with a delay value of 70.6 seconds.
