Abstract

The aim of the study is to find out how the direct method is implemented and to investigate the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing the direct method at MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. This is a qualitative study which provides descriptive data. In other words, the data are analyzed by using qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of the study are the teachers and the students of MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The object of the study is the implementation of direct method in teaching Arabic language at MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The data collection techniques of the study are observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The problem formulation of the study is to find out how to implement the direct method in teaching Arabic language at MTS Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru and to investigate the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing the direct method at MTS Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The results of the study show that the implementation of the direct method has been carried out well with various supporting and inhibiting factors in the implentation of the direct method.
