Abstract
FLOOD HAZARD MAPPING IN KERITANG DISTRICT, INDRAGIRI HILIR REGENCY ABDUL RAHMAN 163410495 ABSTRACT One of the efforts to minimize the negative impact of floods is to provide a flood hazard level map that can be used as a reference for early disaster management planning. Keritang District is a sub-district in Indragiri Hilir Regency which often experiences flooding. Floods in the Keritang District occurred because the Reteh River was unable to accommodate the water discharge from high rain intensity. The flood caused damage to buildings and community plantation land. the losses caused by the flood can be minimized by the availability of flood hazard information including the level of hazard and its distribution. The purpose of this research is to identify the level of flood hazard and its distribution in Keritang District. This study used a quantitative descriptive method to describe the basic physical conditions of Keritang District based on rainfall, land cover, slope, elevation, and soil type using a map. Then weighting is carried out on each condition of each variable which then becomes input in the hazard level analysis using overlay analysis with the help of GIS software. Based on the data obtained regarding the physical characteristics of the Keritang District, the rainfall rate has increased in the first 4 years from 2018-2021, but has decreased in 2022. The most dominant type of land cover in the Keritang District is the type of residential land cover with an area of 91191 .17 Ha (34.79%) The dominant slope is in the classification of 8-15% of 69930.05 Ha (75.93%) of the total area of Keritang District. The majority of the Keritang sub-district is at an altitude of 75-100 meters above sea level, only a small part is at 0-25 meters above sea level. Soil types in Keritang District are dominated by soil types in the form of podsols. while the flood hazard level is divided into 4 classifications, those included in the high classification level have an area of 320.74 Ha (0.35%), the medium classification level is 17357.76 Ha (18.81%), and the low classification is 63573, 10 Ha (68.90%), and which includes a safe flood hazard classification of 11,017.51 Ha (11.94) of the total area of the Keritang District. From the results of the overlay analysis, the distribution of moderate to high levels of flood hazard is in 5 villages/kelurahans in the Keritang District, including: Nyiur Permai, Pengalihan, Pancur, Sencalang, and Pentalongan.Floods, Mapping, Flood Hazard Levels, River Basin Areas
