Abstract

THE INFLUENCE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION LEARNING ON STUDENTS’ CHARACTERS AT SMAN 1 TAPUNG HULU ANGGI FITRIANI 202410001 Character education is a teaching method of character values for children, such as knowledge, awareness, desire, and then practicing them for God Almighty, oneself, other people, environment and the nation in order to become a human. The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of a method of instilling character values, such as knowledge, awareness, desire and actions needed to practice these values towards God Almighty, oneself, other people, environment and the nation to become a human. The data collection technique of the study was questionnaires with a sample of 77 respondents. The results of the study showed that based on the magnitude of the correlation coefficient value, it can be seen that the R-squared value was 0.827 or 82.7% with a very strong criteria. The students’ characters at SMAN 1 Tapung Hulu were influenced by the Islamic Educatin learning. Apart from that, the level of Islamic education learning in class XI of SMAN 1 Tapung Hulu obtained a percentage level of effectiveness for variable X of 87,11% included in the “very good” category. Futhermore, the character level of students in class XI at SMAN 1 Tapung Hulu obtained a percentage level of effectiveness for variable Y of 84,18% included in the “very good” category. It can be seen that the significant value of variable X (Islamic Education learning) was 0,034 <0,05 and the values of t-count 2.159 > t-table 1.665. In conclusion, the students’ characters at SMAN 1 Tapung Hulu were influenced by the Islamic Education learning, because Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.
