Abstract

The study is motivated by the problem of the low ability to memorize Arabic vocabulary among students in grade IV at the Integrated SDN 006 Kubang Jaya. The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of picture guessing media on students’ ability to memorize Arabic vocabulary in grade IV at the Integrated SDN 006 Kubang Jaya. This is an experimental study with pre-test and post-test. This study uses a control class. The population of the study is the students in grade IV at the Integrated SDN 006 Kubang Jaya, totaling 50 students. The data collection techniques of the study are tests and documentation, while the data analysis technique is the t-test statistical technique (paired samples t-test) performed by SPSS 23. The results of the study show that there is a significant difference (sig 0.000) of the students’ ability to memorize Arabic vocabulary between those who learn using the picture guessing media and those without using the picture guessing media. Apart from that, the picture guessing media is proven to be effective in developing students’ ability to memorize Arabic vocabulary, which can be seen in the results of N-Gain test between the pre-test and the post-test.
