Abstract

This study aims to investigate the development of learning media in the form of a Thematic Dictionary of Arabic language learning at SDIT Sakinah Pekanbaru, examine and analyze the feasibility of the product for the second grade students at SDIT Sakinah, and find out the advantages and disadvantages of the Thematic Dictionary. The type of this study is the research and development (R&D). R&D is a research method used to produce a particular product, and test the effectiveness of the product. A product that has been produced requires to be examined in the nature of a needs analysis and to be tested the effectiveness of the product so that it can function in society, especially in education. The data collection is carried out quantitatively, especially on the performance before and after the implementation of the trial. The results obtained from the trial are in the form of an evaluation of the achievement of trial results (model design) compared with the control group. Thus, in general, this step uses an experimental research design. The product development of the thematic dictionary are analyzed through validity trials, revisions, product user trials, and evaluation and post-test. Based on the test results, the product is generally suitable for use as a learning media for Arabic language. This is based on the material expert product validity assessment score of 4.06 (Good), media expert product validity of 4.33 (Very Good), product users of 4.28 (Very Good), final evaluation results of 4.05 (Good), and the post-test of 3.60 (Good). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that this thematic dictionary product test has a very good score, so this product development is suitable for Arabic language learning of students at SDIT Sakinah.
