Abstract
Arabic Education Study Program. Islamic Faculty, Islamic University of Riau Supervisor: Dr. Rojja Pebrian, Lc, M.A.ABSTRACTThis research aimed to investigate the relationship between Arabic learning achievement and Quranic memorization (Tahfidz) achievement in the 9th grade of Islamic Junior High School 1 West Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency. The study was conducted during the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023. It was a correlational research type. Data obtained from the sample were analyzed using statistical analysis to determine the relationship between Arabic learning achievement and Quranic memorization achievement of 9th-grade students at Islamic Junior High School 1 West Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency. The research involved two variables: Arabic learning achievement categorized as variable X and Quranic memorization achievement as variable Y. A questionnaire sheet was used to gather data on Quranic memorization achievement. The analysis methods employed in this research were descriptive data analysis and correlation calculation. The result of rxy was 0.343. It could be observed that the relationship between variable X (Arabic learning achievement) and variable Y (Quranic memorization achievement) was positive, indicating that an increase in Arabic learning achievement was followed by an improvement in Quranic memorization achievement, and vice versa. The calculated t�value > the tabulated t-value (t-value = 2.249; tabulated t-value = 1.684), so the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, it meant that there was a relationship between Arabic learning achievement and Quranic memorization achievement. The coefficient of determination value was 11.8%, indicating that Quranic memorization achievement in Islamic Junior High School 1 West Pangkalan Kerinci was determined not only by Arabic learning achievement at 11.8%. However, there were other factors accounting for 88.2% that it could influence Quranic memorization achievement.
