Abstract

AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE LEVEL ON THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF SHARIA BANKING IN PEKANBARU CITY BY PADILAWATI GULTOM 202310184 This study aimed to determine the level of students’ knowledge regarding the progress of digital transformation of Sharia banking. The digital banking transformation is an important issue in the banking industry today. Digital disruption has changed the way people do business and transaction. Customers prefer the smoothness and convenience of products and services, receiving information about products and services effectively via smartphone. Generally, digital banking uses terms such as electronic banking or internet banking. In addition, the adoption of banking has changed banking services to be more efficient and competitive with competitive advantages. This study used a survey research method with the samples taken from one population using questionnaires as a data collection technique. The samples were taken by a purposive sampling technique, that is a technique based on previously known population characteristics, in other words, the sample units contacted were adjusted to certain criteria applied based on the research objectives (Mamik). The respondents determined by researcher in this study were the active Students from the past 4 years, from 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 who majored in sharia economics study program and sharia banking study program. After conducting the study, a conclusion was drawn in line with the problem formulation, it was known that the students had already knew about the level of progress in the digital transformation of Islamic banking in Pekanbaru city, proven by the significant influence that t-count ? t-table (29.361 ? 1.661). From the R-squared test, it was found that the R-squared value was 0.950 (95%) indicating that the independent variable (Students’ Knowledge Level) had an influence on the dependent variable (Sharia Banking Digital Transformation) by 95%. Meanwhile, 5% is influenced by other variables. And the interpretation of r proved that the influence of students’ knowledge level on the digital transformation of sharia banking was in the very strong category with a coefficient interval of 0.80-0.999.
