Abstract

Children’s social behavior is related to how children interact with their family, play with their friends at school, greet their peers and use mobile phone on a daily basis. This study aims to investigate whether there is a relationship between using mobile phone and pupils’social behavior at PAUD IT Bunayya in Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru city. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The data collection technique of the study is questionnaires distributed to 72 pupils and the sample is taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data analysis techniques of the study are Normality Test, Linearlity Test and Hypothesis Test. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between using mobile phone and pupils’ social behavior at PAUD IT Bunayya Pekanbaru with a significant value of 0.024, which is 0.024 < 0.05. The relationship between using mobile phone and pupils’ social behavior at PAUD IT Bunayya Pekanbaru is positive. The level of relationship between using mobile phone and pupils’ social behavior at PAUD IT Bunayya Pekanbaru is categorized as weak and low, it can be seen from the pearson correlation value that is 0.266.
