Abstract

mportant problem in the science of recitation is the pronunciation of makharijul letters, which is an important key in reading the Koran. Many people do read the Koran without paying attention to the problem of pronunciation of makharijul letters, even though errors in pronouncing this prayer can have serious impacts on understanding the verses of the Koran. In this research, the focus is how Islamic Religious Education teachers try to improve Understanding of class VIII students at SMPN 1 Siak Hulu Kampar regarding makharijul letter. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with subjects in the form of two religion teachers at SMP 1 Siak Hulu Kampar. Data is collected through interviews and documentation, then analyzed to retrieve conclusion. The research results show the efforts of teachers in improve understanding of makharijul letters, such as forming extracurricular Tahsin, provide motivation to students, evaluate student abilities, guiding students in Muroja'ah, and giving rewards to students who excels.
