Abstract
Flow sensors are used to measure the speed of fluid flow in a particular pipe or channel. Each type of flow sensor has its own advantages and disadvantages. This research aims to obtain an accurate flow sensor for use in the design of a microcontroller-based cooking oil measuring device. The flow sensors used are the AICHI OF05ZAT flow sensor and the YF-S201 flow sensor. Flow sensor testing was carried out 5 times and 3 times with a volume of 1 liter, 2 liters, 3 liters, 4 liters and 5 liters for each flow sensor. The average error value data produced by the AICHI OF05ZAT flow sensor is 0.26%, 0.18%, 0.25%, 0.2% and 0.11%. The error value is low enough so that the AICHI OF05ZAT flow sensor can be used in design of a microcontroller-based cooking oil measuring tool because the resulting error value does not exceed the standard error for fuel measurement because the error value tolerated by UPT Metrology is 0.5%.
