Abstract

This research was motivated by the discovery that at Madrasah Raudatut Thalibin Pekanbaru, when the Ashar prayer time schedule came, the students were reluctant to immediately go to the prayer room to take ablution water and perform the prayer, most of them instead carried out other activities. ` The formulation of the problem is what are the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in guiding students' congregational prayers at Madrasah Raudatut Thalibin Pekanbaru? and what are the supporting factors that influence the efforts of Islamic religious education teachers in guiding students' congregational prayers at Madrasah Raudatut Thalibin Pekanbaru? This study used qualitative research methods. This research was conducted at the Raudhatut Thalibin Pekanbaru Madrasah, whose address is Rejosari, Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province. The research subjects were 2 main informants and 2 supporting informants. Data collection techniques are interview and documentation methods. The research results show that 1) Congregational prayer activities have been carried out at Raudhatut Tholibin DTA, 2) Learning at DTA includes prayer material taught from grades 1-4, 3) The interest of students in congregational prayer at DTA is generally still low, 4) Reminding that the time to enter prayer is done before the call to prayer sounds, 5) Discipline in carrying out congregational prayers in DTA is still not good, 6) Teachers provide an example by participating in congregational prayer activities, 7) Teachers' efforts in guiding children to pray in congregation by providing an example, involving children in congregational prayer activities and providing sanctions if they do not perform congregational prayers.
