Abstract

Significant population growth in the Tembilahan sub-district will cause the need for clean water to increase. Meeting the need for clean water is very important. If the fulfillment of clean water needs is not properly managed and planned, it will cause problems such as declining public health, slum settlements, and environmental problems. So it is necessary to do research related to the analysis of the availability and demand for clean water in Tembilahan sub-district. The purpose of this study was to analyze the availability and demand for clean water in the Tembilahan district to determine the availability and demand for clean water in the Tembilahan sub-district in the future and create a strategy to meet the demand for clean water in the Tembilahan sub-district. The method and analysis used are descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques with projections and a Likert scale, and using the Probability Sampling method with the Simple Random Sampling type. The results of this study are the condition of the piping system in Tembilahan District consisting of raw water units, production units and distribution units, while clean water conditions are classified as low based on quality, moderate based on quantity, low based on community, and moderate based on affordability. Then the results of the analysis of the need for clean water are that the need for water continues to increase, so that the results obtained are that the highest demand in 2041 will be in Tembilahan Kota Village. Then the strategy is obtained in the form of developing a clean water supply system, expanding access to safe drinking water through the provision of protected and sustainable non-piping networks (BJP), reducing the level of water loss through information systems and data collection in the framework of monitoring and evaluating the performance of water services, and conducting collaboration between stakeholders by involving the participation of the community.
