Abstract

The purpose in this research examined to determine whether the influence of teacher discipline on students’ class V learning motivation in Islamic education subject at elementary school IT Raudhaturrahmah Pekanbaru. This research was a quantitative correlational study. The subjects in this study were students at elementary school IT Raudhaturrahmah Pekanbaru. The object of this research was the influence of teacher discipline on students’ class V learning motivation in Islamic education subject at elementary school IT Raudhaturrahmah Pekanbaru. The population in this study consisted of 76 students, and if the population was less than 100, then the entire population was used as a sample, which was 76 students. Based on the processed data and data analysis conducted by the researcher, it could be concluded that there was a significant influence between teacher discipline (X) and students’ learning motivation (Y) at elementary school IT Raudhaturrahmah Pekanbaru. This was in line with the results of the ANOVA, which stated that if the significant value was less than 0.05, where 0.000 < 0.05, it meant that the hypothesis was accepted. Furthermore, based on the coefficient value (R) of 0.987, the relationship between teacher’s discipline and students’ learning motivation was 98.7%. Referring to the correlation coefficient interval table, this relationship could be categorized as very strong because the R value (0.987) was in the range of 0.80 – 1.000. Therefore, the relationship between teacher discipline and student learning motivation was very strong. Additionally, the magnitude of the coefficient value (R Square) of 0.973 (97.3%) indicated that learning motivation was influenced by the teacher discipline variable at elementary school IT Raudhaturrahmah Pekanbaru by 97.3%, falling within the coefficient interval of 0.80-1.000, it was categorized as very strong.
