Abstract

This study is motivated by the existence of some teachers who do not behave in accordance with the proper manners. Imam Badruddin Ibnu Jama'ah Al-Kinani Asy-Syafi'I is one of the figures who expresses his ideas in the book of Tadskirotus Sami' Wal Mutakallim. The aim of the study is to find out how the teacher manners according to Imam Badruddin Ibnu Jama'ah Al-Kinani Asy-Syafi'I in the book of Tadskirotus Sami' Wal Mutakallim and to find out the relevance of the teacher manners according to Imam Badruddin Ibnu Jama'ah Al-Kinani Asy- Syafi'I in the book of Tadskirotus Sami' Wal Mutakallim with the teachers’ ethical codes in Indonesia. The type of this study is library research, which is a study that limits its activities to library collection materials in the form of books or documents related to the object of the study. The data analysis technique of the study is content analysis method. The results of the study show that the teachers’ ethical codes according to Imam Badruddin Ibnu Jamaa'ah Al-Kinani Asy-Syafi'i in the book of Tadskirotus Sami' Wal Mutakallim consisting of three teachers’ ethical codes, namely: first, the teacher manners towards themselves which are about the readiness of the teachers who must exist on them before teaching; second, the teacher manners in his view, the readiness of the teachers starting from the time they go to school until they go home; and third, the teacher manners towards the students, the attitude and treatment of the teachers towards the students. From the three teachers’ ethical codes according to Imam Badruddin Ibnu Jama'ah Al-Kinani Ash-Syafi'i, two of them are not found directly in the teachers’ ethical codes in Indonesia, namely the teachers’ ethical codes towards themselves and the teachers’ ethical codes in his view. However, in the points of the teachers’ etchical codes towards themselves and the teachers’ ethical codes according to Al-Kinani’s thought are also found in the points of the teachers’ ethical codes in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Al-Kinani’s thought about ethical codes for teachers and students is also found in the teachers’ ethical codes in Indonesia, namely the teachers’ relationship with their students. According to Imam Badruddin Ibnu Jama'ah Al-Kinani Asy-Syafi'i, the teachers’ ethical codes are more complex because they discuss how to become a teacher according to Islam, while the teachers’ ethical codes in Indonesia are more general because those are used as a reference or guideline for all teachers in Indonesia who adhere to various religions.
