Abstract
This study is motivated by the students’ low motivation at SDN 115 Pekanbaru in learning Islamic Studies. Learning motivation plays a very important role in improving students’ learning outcomes and enthusiasm. Therefore, a teacher should not have to apply just one strategy, but it is better to apply several series of strategies that mutually encourage the effectiveness of learning. The Problem formulation of the study is: what are the strategies of Islamic Studies Teachers for increasing Students’ learning motivation at SDN 115 Pekanbaru. The aim of the study is to investigate the strategies of Islamic Studies Teachers for increasing students’ learning motivation at SDN 115 Pekanbaru. The subject of the study is the Islamic Studies teachers. Meanwhile, the object of the study is the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers for increasing students’ learning motivation. The key informants of the study are 3 Islamic Studies teachers. This is a qualitative study with a case study approach. The data collection techniques of the study are interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is conducted in a qualitative method obtained from interviews. The conclusion of the study is that the Islamic Studies teachers have several strategies for increasing students’ learning motivation such as by giving praise, giving prizes, giving assessments, holding games, holding competitions and using various methods.
