Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem of teacher’s pedagogical competence at Islamic senior high school Darussalam Parmeraan, Dolok Subdistrict, North Padang Lawas Regency. The purpose in this research examined to analyze the influence of high order thinking skills on teacher’s pedagogical competence at Islamic senior high school Darussalam Parmeraan. This research used quantitative with a correlation approach, involving 32 samples. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, and data analysis techniques involved normality tests, linearity tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of this research indicated that the level of high order thinking skills and teacher’s pedagogical competence were in the high category. Other results showed that there was an influence of high order thinking skills on teacher’s pedagogical competence at Islamic senior high school Darussalam Parmeraan with a significance score in 0.013. The magnitude of the influence was low (0.187 or 18.7%). High order thinking skills influenced the teacher’s pedagogical competence at Islamic senior high school Darussalam Parmeraan. This research has implications for the theory of teacher’s pedagogical competence skills at Islamic senior high school.
