Abstract

This research focuses on the refrigeration system which is a way to maintain the temperature of the resulting product at a lower temperature than the ambient temperature, which occurs through the process of product heat transfer. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between changes in evaporator fan speed to determine the efficiency of the refrigeration system using a good – 134a refrigerant based on variations in evaporator rotation (150, 200, 250, 300, 350) Rpm. The method used in this research is testing using a General Cycle Refrigeration Trainer with a compressor capacity of 1 PK. The data collection method was carried out by recording the results of pressure and temperature when testing the refrigeration system tool, then plotted in the P-h diagram of the type of refrigerant – 134a. Based on the discussion that has been done, it can be concluded that the results of the study show that the calorific value absorbed by the evaporator increases. Compressor performance value has decreased. The calorific value released by the condenser has increased. The value of the actual achievement coefficient has increased. The value of the ideal achievement coefficient has increased. Due to the greater mass flow of refrigerant to cool the evaporator temperature at 350 Rpm, the power consumed by the compressor will be greater. While the efficiency increases as the rotational speed of the evaporator cooling fan increases.
