Abstract

This study is motivated by problems with learning outcomes that occurred in several students in grade VI at SDN 008 Angkasa. There are several problems, one of them is the students whose grades below the standard. The study aims to investigate the level of teachers’ professional competence, the level of learning outcomes, and the influence of professional competence of Islamic Studies teachers on students’ learning outcomes in grade VI at SDN 008 Angkasa. This is a quantitative study with a correlational approach. The sample of the study consists of 40 students. The data collection techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. This study has two variables, the variable X (Professional Competence of Islamic Studies teachers) and the variable Y (Learning Outcomes). The results of the study show that the professional competence level of Islamic Studies teachers is 84.69% and the learning outcome level is 87.54%. The results of the hypothesis test show a value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted and there is an influence of the professional competence of Islamic Studies teachers on the students’ learning outcomes in grade VI at SDN 008 Angkasa. The magnitude of the influence can be seen in the summary table, namely the R-squared value of 0.207 or 20.7%. It means that the learning outcomes are influenced by the professional competence of Islamic Studies teachers by 20.7% or included in the low category. In conclusion, there is an influence of the professional competence of Islamic Studies teachers on the students’ learning outcomes in grade VI at SDN 008 Angkasa. For this reason, it is very important to improve teacher professional competence in order to improve students’ learning outcomes.
