Abstract

This study is motivated by the low motivation of students to learn, especially in learning Islamic Studies subject at SDN 161 Pekanbaru. The problem formulation of the study is how the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers in increasing student learning motivation at SDN 161 Pekanbaru. The aim of the study is to find out the strategies of Islamic Studies teachers in increasing student learning motivation at SDN 161 Pekanbaru. This is a qualitative descriptive study. The approach of this study is a case study. The data sources of the study are primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques of the study are interviews and documentation. The interviewees of the study are 2 teachers of Islamic Studies at SDN 161 Pekanbaru and the principal of SDN 161 Pekanbaru. The data analysis techniques of this qualitative study are data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of this study show that the Strategies of Islamic Studies Teachers at SDN 161 Pekanbaru in increasing Student Learning Motivation by explaining learning objectives; learning through games, prizes and praise; applying the Cooperative Learning method, Question and Answer method; using good media; and giving score.
