Abstract

Welding is an integral part of the industry's increasing growth as it plays a major role in the engineering and repair of metal production. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of welding gas pressure with acetylene welding with additional wire made of St 37 type G1 DIN 8554 Ø3 on hardness, bending strength, and impact strength on galvanized landing plates. This study used acetylene welding with gas pressure variations of 50 Psi, 100 Psi, 150 Psi to find out how the mechanical properties that occur on the galvanized bordes plate will affect the mechanical properties that occur after testing. Based on the results of the research data, it was found that the highest hardness test value was at 100 Psi gas pressure, which was 81.06 BHN, while the lowest value was at 50 Psi gas pressure, which was 65.9 BHN. In the Bending Test, based on the research results, the highest value was at 50 Psi gas pressure, which was 4.35 kN, while the bending test results had the lowest value, namely at 100 Psi gas pressure, which was 2.72 kN. In Impact Testing based on research results the highest value is at 150 Psi gas pressure which is 24 J/mm, while the lowest value is at 100 Psi gas pressure which is 2.2 J/mm.
