Abstract

The crime of motorbike theft is one of the crimes that often occurs in Indonesia, motorbike theft is included in crimes against property or objects. The crime of motorbike theft has become very disturbing and threatens security in the community. Motorbike theft is generally caused by a person's economic factors, however, as time goes by, the factors that cause the crime of motorbike theft are increasingly developing. The formulation of the main problem in this research is what are the factors that cause motorbike theft in the Ukui police area and what countermeasures are carried out by the police, especially the Ukui sector police, in dealing with motorbike theft in the Ukui police district's jurisdiction. The type of research used is empirical legal research. By going directly into the field by conducting observations using data collection tools through interviews. By providing a complete and clear picture of the problem being studied. Research on motorbikes committing crimes in the jurisdiction of the Ukui Police Station and examining how the Ukui Police Department police officers deal with the crime of motorbike theft in the Ukui Police jurisdiction. There are several factors in this crime, namely economic factors, bad social factors, environmental factors, drug factors, educational factors, opportunity factors. And the police's efforts in tackling this crime aim to find the factors that cause the perpetrators of this theft, namely several efforts are pre-emptive efforts, preventive efforts, and repressive efforts.
