Abstract

Pekanbaru is the capital of Riau Province, along with the very rapid development of Pekanbaru City and development and infrastructure, parking lots are needed for the people of Pekanbaru City. Parking space is needed so that two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles are neatly arranged at the edge of the public road. Thesis entitled "Consumer Protection for Parking Service Users Who Do Not Provide Regional Retribution Certificates (SKRD) Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection". The formulation of the problem in the research is how to protect the rights of consumers who use parking services who do not provide SKRD letters or other documents based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and what forms of justice exist in implementing the rights of parking service users. The aim of this research is to determine the role of the transportation service in curbing parking attendants in Pekanbaru City who are still illegal and to find out what forms of consumer protection exist for parking services in Pekanbaru City. This research method is based on existing problems. This research uses empirical methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The type of approach used in this research is the statutory approach and the fact approach. Based on this research, it can be concluded that some parking attendants in Pekanbaru City do not give tickets to consumers when the consumer has finished parking their vehicle in the parking lot. Parking attendants who do not give tickets to consumers are a violation of consumer rights, so consumer protection is needed so that consumers can get their rights as consumers.
