Abstract

ociolinguistics is the study of how language and culture interact. When individuals interact with one another, they speak in a variety of ways. They can mix their languages in their utterance by using the many variants they have. Code mixing is the term used in sociolinguistics to describe the blending of one language with another. Code mixing has been widely used in culture. It occurs in the first AKB48 sibling group outside of Japan and one of the most popular and well-known idol groups from Indonesia. Therefore, the emphasis of this study is on the code mixing that appears in the JKT48 lyrics. The goal of this study was to identify the different kinds and variations of code mixing used in JKT48 music lyrics. This study used a descriptive qualitative methodology, and its primary tool was person research. This study used documentation method for data collection.
