Abstract

The design of the research was classroom action research. This research was aimed to find out the improving students’ vocabulary by using English song lyrics. The subject of this research was the eleventh grade students’ of SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. It was choose only one class consisted of 36 students but only 32 students who participated in this research. The object of this research was to improve students’ vocabulary by using English song. The result of the analyzing the data showed that there was an improving on the students’ vocabulary from each cycles. The research is started by providing a based test aimed at obtaining a base score and continued with cycle 1 and cycle 2. It was showed from the students average score of base score in the oral test the students got 62.42 and the results of the written test was 59.19, In the oral test cycle 1 the students got 75.32 and the result of the written test was 73.06, and the test in the oral test cycle 2 the students got 81.94, and the result of the written test was 83.23. The score in the second cycle was higher than the KKM. In other words, the students’ vocabulary was improved. ?
