Abstract

Performance optimization is a process or way to improve a person’s work ability, work appearance or work performance which can be done in various ways or certain strategies implemented by a company. This study is motivated by the performance of the zakat collection unit of BAZNAS in Pekanbaru city, Riau, which still needs to be optimized its performance in collecting zakat, infaq and shodaqoh funds. The study aims to find out how to optimize the performance of the zakat collection unit in collecting zakat, infaq and shodaqoh funds at BAZNAS of Pekanbaru city. The data collection technique of the study is interview conducted with four informants. This is a qualitative study. Based on the results of the study on optimizing the performance of the zakat collection unit in collecting zakat, infaq and shodaqoh funds at BAZNAS of Pekanbaru city, it can be concluded that currently BAZNAS continues to train, control, supervise and also provide facilities to support the performance of the zakat collection unit so that it becomes more optimal.
