Abstract

It means that the people can provide ideas and exchange the information with others through an interactive process. This research aimed to know how the level of students’ speaking fluency at third semester of English Language Education of FKIP UIR. This research used quantitative descriptive research method with third semester students in English Language Education as the research population. There were 15 students taken as the research sample selected through purposive sampling technique. The data was collected through speaking test. The students were given a topic about education and asked to deliver a speech in 2 minutes. The speech was recorded. After get the record, researcher transcript the record and analyze the data using computer software called audacity. The result of the study showed that students’ speaking fluency level at third semester of English Language Education of FKIP UIR is 69,76 (Good, level 3). It shows the students who had Good fluency 66% or 10 students, Advanced fluency 27% or 4 students, and Native – like fluency 7% or 1 student. It means that most students had medium speaking fluency level.
