Abstract

Study In the interaction of Dankopi.idn workers, they often do not meet expectations, many are still unable to use speech in polite language. This is due to several reasons, one of which is gender differences. Gender differences result in the speech of men and women having differences in language politeness. This is what makes the writer interested in conducting research on how gender-based politeness forms. The problem in this research is how gender-based language politeness forms in worker interactions at Dankopi.idn. In addition, this study also aims to explore and elaborate on information about: Principles of Gender-Based Language Politeness in Worker Interactions at Dankopi.idn: Sociopragmatic Studies. The theory used in this research is the politeness principle according to Leech (1993). The focus of this research is focused on (1) the maxim of wisdom, (2) the maxim of generosity, (3) the maxim of appreciation, (4) the maxim of modesty, (5) the maxim of agreement, (6) sympathy maxim. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis method. The data taken is in the form of workers' speech at Dankopi.idn, both men and women. Collecting data using the technique of observing and discussing (SLC). The data analysis technique uses the Bungin technique (2007) which consists of several stages, namely identification, classification, coding, analysis, interpretation or discussion. The results of this study indicate that gender-based politeness utterances in worker interactions at Dankopi have 91 utterance data consisting of 75 polite utterances and 16 impolite utterances. Politeness in this language is more dominant in women, namely with 48 polite speeches and 8 impolite speeches, while men only found 27 polite speeches and 8 impolite utterances.
