Abstract

ABSTRACT Crime in society is a phenomenon or "crime in society" which is part of the general economic system. The crime of theft is an act that deviates from the provisions of the Criminal Code (KUHP) in Articles 362 to Article 367. Crimes still occur in the area of Fifty Pekanbaru City Police Stations, there are around 34 cases that have been handled by the police and with the emergence of the Author's Case interested in studying this in more depth. The formulation of the problem in this research is what are the factors that cause the crime of two-wheeled motor vehicle theft in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru City Police and what are the forms of efforts to overcome the crime of motor vehicle theft. two-wheeled motorized vehicles in the jurisdiction of the Fifty Pekanbaru City Police. The author chose the type of sociological research, namely the author went directly into the field to obtain primary data and secondary data. In collecting data, the author interviewed several respondents, namely: Investigators from the Fifty Pekanbaru City Police. From the research results obtained by the author, there are several factors that cause perpetrators to commit crimes, namely: economic factors, environmental factors, and global development factors. The response efforts carried out by the police include pre-emptive efforts, preventive efforts and repressive efforts. One of them is by giving an appeal to the public to always be careful, actively carry out patrols and process criminals.
