Abstract

ABSTRACT Because the law will continue to experience development and renewal in terms of policy. This is because the law will always adapt through social life in society, the public pays great attention to how minor violations are enforced in the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code. Many legal professionals and the general public believe that it is not worth the risk, so the idea of a Mediation Penal in law enforcement is needed. Considered as a form of settlement strategy for criminal cases involving perpetrators, victims, relatives of perpetrators and victims, as well as other related parties, to achieve a fair settlement with a focus on returning the situation to the way it should be. before and avoid retaliation. By improving the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim, penal mediation seeks to achieve justice. The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of penal mediation and the challenges faced by the Riau Police when using it to resolve minor criminal unpleasant cases. This study uses an empirical legal research methodology as a research strategy. In addition to using primary legal sources, secondary legal sources, and tertiary legal sources, as well as conducting interviews with related parties, as far as possible to collect information about the types of minor crimes and their resolution Many minor criminal unpleasant cases under the supervision of the Riau Police. Have been resolved using a penal mediation strategy. In terms of police oversight, Riau Police assists the community with legal requirements, offers a variety of facilities, makes it easy for the community to use, and meets all their needs. through penal mediation in the Kuala Kampar Police area.
