Abstract

Dry leaf waste comes from old leaves that fall from trees that are around us and in the forest. There are several factors that are a problem in the community, lack of insight into the use and destruction of dry leaf waste so that the dry leaves around the house cause stagnant water, if the handling is not appropriate, such as burning dry leaf waste, it will result in air pollution. Although at first glance it looks practical and immediately disappears , but burning trash can be harmful to your health in the long run. The need for technology or machines that can help humans reduce the smoke produced by burning waste contains harmful chemicals, so it is important for us to know how to manage waste properly. Appropriate technology is very much needed, especially dry leaf crushing machines. This is very necessary to destroy dry leaves to be used as fertilizer in plants by farmers, besides that it can also provide economic value for the community, many people who process dry leaves are found doing it manually. After testing with a dry leaf chopper with a motor power of 1 HP and a maximum speed of 1200 Rpm and using a 3 blade blade, the production yield was 37 kg/hour, in the second test using a 2 blade blade and a production capacity of 31 kg/hour. , and on the blade of 1 blade, the production capacity is 27 kg/hour. It can be concluded from the three tests carried out with the same Rpm, the blade blade can affect the production capacity results obtained.
