Abstract
The energy source that is still widely used today is energy derived from fossil energy, namely petroleum, which is the main energy used in the world. Fossil energy is non-renewable energy. The discovery and use of alternative energy will of course be energy that will always be used so that energy sources are always available and unlimited, the development of water fuel is a breakthrough for researchers to make water a fuel by going through an electrolysis process. Electrolysis is a process where an electric current can decompose an electrolyte substance. This happens because in the process of electrolysis, electrical energy is converted into chemical energy. When water is electrolyzed, the compound water (H2O) is decomposed into oxygen (O2) and hydrogen (H2). In the process of electrolysis, when water (H2O) is decomposed into hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O2), two water molecules capture two electrons from the cathode to become hydrogen gas (H2) and hydroxide ions (OH). This electrolyzed gas will then be used as renewable energy by being used as fuel from gas stoves. In this research, a water electrolysis reactor was made to produce HHO gas by obtaining a prototype of the electrolysis reactor and prototypes of all components of a waterfired gas stove. Then in the electrolysis reactor test the researchers tested it 2 times with differences in the levels of table salt (NaCl) catalyst, namely 6 gram catalyst variations and 8 gram catalyst variations. The 8 gram catalyst variation produced a volume of HHO gas of 2500 ml, the electric power used was 70 watts, a Q value of 0.00139 lt/s and an efficiency of ?=12.91% while for the 6 gram catalyst variation it produced a volume of HHO gas of 1870 ml, for the electrical power used is 61 watts, the Q value is 0.00104 lt/s and the efficiency ? = 11.08 %.
