Abstract

The use of solar energy as a generator of electricity converted with solar panels in the men's dormitory has the opportunity to replace PLN as a source of electricity. In the construction of solar power plants, planning related to component specifications and economic feasibility is certainly important to do first. in relation to that, this planning aims to obtain the specifications that will be used and to get in the boys' dormitory building of UIR.In its planning, the PLTS system component is needed for planning PLTS system in the Boys' Dormitory Building using 100% of the total building load of 331.44 kWh and the energy output of nighttime load of 206,403 kWh /day, then obtained the specifications PLTS that will be used in the boys' dormitory building of UIR is 187 solar panels with a capacity of 550 Wp by utilizing the available land area and adjusting the load of the building, 36 pieces of battery capacity of 12 Volt 1000 Ah, Charge Controller 36 pieces of large 12 volt capacity of 100 A current, 1 inverter capacity of 50kW.1 combiner box containing supporting components and protection equipment.performance ratio of 84%,.this planning requires an investment cost of Rp1,069,822,760, Operational and Maintenance Costs of Rp. 10,698,227, Life Cycle Cost for 15 years of Rp. 81,306,905, (NPV) obtained of Rp.149,755,607 shows that NPV is positive (NPV>0).PLTS, Solar Panel, Investmen
