Abstract

Business was a business managed based on Sharia business principles rooted in the laws of the Qur'an and the Prophet's Sunnah. Every activity within the business must adhere to the rules and regulations taught in Islam, with the goal of seeking profit and providing prosperity for the community. The research problem formulation was centred on the potential of Islamic boarding schools in the development of Sharia business at Al-Jauhar Duri Islamic boarding school. The research aimed to identify the potential possessed by Al-Jauhar Duri Islamic boarding school in developing Sharia-based businesses. The research employed a descriptive quantitative research approach, with informants including foundation leaders, the person in charge of the business unit at Al-Jauhar Duri Islamic boarding school, village officials, and community leaders. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilized quantitative descriptive analysis with the SWOT analysis method. The research findings revealed that the business unit at AlJauhar Duri Islamic boarding school had the potential to be a Sharia-based business, as indicated by the SWOT analysis covering strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat indicators, as well as the IE matrix. The IFAS Matrix yielded a total value of 3.22, while the EFAS Matrix had a total value of 2.7. This indicates that the potential for Sharia business development falls into the "moderate" category, suggesting room for improvement with more concerted efforts in its development.
