Abstract

Several road sections in Pekanbaru City have experienced damage, ranging from severe to minor, including in the Bukit Raya District. To address this issue, a certain budget is required. In 2022, the Pekanbaru City Government allocated a budget of IDR 12,000,000,000 for the repair of road infrastructure. In this regard, there is a need for alignment between the budget and the requirements for implementing road repairs. Based on the author's field observations regarding the implementation of budgeting for road repairs in Pekanbaru in 2022, the author is interested in conducting a scientific study entitled: "Implementation of budgeting for road repairs in Pekanbaru in 2022 (A Case Study of Damaged Roads in the Bukit Raya District)." From the above description, the author is interested in researching how the budgeting for road repairs is implemented in the Bukit Raya District of Pekanbaru in 2022 and what obstacles exist in the implementation of road repairs in the Bukit Raya District of Pekanbaru in 2022. The research method used in this study is observational research, conducted through investigation, as the author directly conducted research at the research site to obtain necessary information and data. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of budgeting for road repairs has been carried out in accordance with applicable laws. In the road repairs in the Bukit Raya District of Pekanbaru in 2022, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency used overlay, patching, and re-laying methods. The implementation of road repairs in the Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru, in 2022 faced internal challenges, such as budget constraints due to the impact of the Covid- 19 pandemic and inadequate human resources. On the other hand, external challenges include a shortage of heavy equipment and limited management of natural resources.
