Abstract
The amount of plastic, tapioca and coconut fiber waste is very large in Indonesia if the amount of plastic and coconut fiber continues to increase, it is feared that it will have a bad impact on the environment, for that there needs to be a way to reuse plastic waste and coconut fiber, an alternative that can be done is by changing These three materials are made into particle board. This study aims to determine the quality of composite boards in terms of physical and mechanical properties (density, expansion, modulus of elasticity (MOE), and modulus of fracture (MOR). From coconut fiber, tapioca, and recycled plastic adhesives. With different compositions: 60% Coconut Fiber +5% Tapioca + 35% Polypropylene Resin, 70% Coconut fiber +5% Tapioca + 25% Polypropylene Resin, 80% Coconut Fiber +5% Tapioca + 15% Polypropylene Resin From the calculation results obtained density test values of 0.43 gr/cm³, 0.37 gr/cm³, 0.34 gr/cm³, Thickness expansion of 4%, 4.5%, and 15%, modulus of elasticity 0.737(? 10?^4kgf/cm²), 0.0455 (?10?^4kgf/cm²), 0.1053(?10?^4 kgf/cm²), modulus of fracture of 93.164 kg/cm², 195.544 kg/cm², 62.4138 kg/cm², from all results testing only the modulus of fracture that meets the standard of SNI 03-2105-2006
