Abstract

Based on the environmental temperature problems that occur in the field, there are many obstacles in casting time due to high ambient temperatures so there is concern that the concrete dries quickly and the workability of the concrete decreases. This can hinder work in the field because concrete that has started to dry will be difficult to compact and can cause cavities in the concrete which can reduce the quality of the concrete. This is a concern for planners to conduct research and testing on the design of rigid pavement roads, one of which is by adding Viscocrete with the use of different coarse aggregate temperatures with the aim of knowing the results of compressive strength and flexural strength and the effect of adding Viscocrete. The method was carried out experimentally, namely by conducting direct experiments which included material inspection, slump testing, flexural strength testing, and compressive strength testing on medium quality concrete (20 ? fc' ? 45 MPa). the material used is coarse aggregate when the temperature reaches 25°C, 30°C, and 45°C. Variations in the addition of viscocrete are 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% by weight of cement. For the use of cement water factor of 0.4 for normal concrete and concrete with the addition of viscocrete.. The results of the research obtained obtained the compressive strength (fc') and flexural strength (fs) tests of medium quality concrete (20 ? fc' ? 45 MPa), the addition of viscocrete additives at each use of coarse aggregate at temperatures of 250C, 300C, and 450C, no significantly increase the results of the compressive strength (fc') and flexural strength (fs) tests at ages 7, 14, and 28 against normal concrete. The highest values for flexural strength (fs) and compressive strength (fc') at 28 days of age were the use of coarse aggregate at 250C without additives, namely 3.00 MPa and 34.01 MPa. As for the greatest values of flexural strength (fs) and compressive strength (fc') at 28 days of age using additives at a coarse aggregate temperature of 250C with 1.0% Viscocrete additives, namely 2.97 MPa and 36.32 MPa. The effect of adding Viscocrete can significantly increase the value of concrete slump, but the percentage of viscocrete addition must be considered because if it is excessive it will cause the concrete to become so runny and result in an inhomogeneous concrete mix. An inhomogeneous concrete mixture can reduce the quality of the concrete..
