Abstract

This research aims to produce science learning media based on animated videos that are valid and practical. This research is the development of Thiagarajan's 4-D learning tool. This model is divided into 4 development phases, namely definition, design, development, dissemination. The data collection instruments used were validation sheets, interview sheets and validated practicality questionnaire sheets. The sampling technique used in this research is random sampling. Data collection was carried out at three schools, SMP IT Al-Mishbah Riau, SMP YLPI P. Marpoyan, and SMP PGRI Pekanbaru. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and validation sheets. The validation results by material experts obtained an average percentage of 91.87% (very valid). Validation results from media experts obtained an average of 94% (very valid). The results of validation by teachers obtained an average of 92%. The results of the students' practicality show that the media developed received an average of 95% (very practical). From the results above, it can be concluded that the development of animated video-based science learning media using the Powtoon application on energy materials in everyday life is very valid and very practical.
