Abstract
The curriculum was created with the aim of facilitating the educational process, but the reality is that it is often changed, causing confusion on all sides. Kemendikbudristek has issued a new policy by changing the 2013 curriculum to the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka curriculum (MBKM) in 2019. This research aims to know students’ perceptions of biology education FKIP UIR towards the understanding of MBKM curriculum. The types of data used in this research are quantitative and qualitative, using primary data sources and secondary data. Sampling in this study using saturated sampling technique with the number of samples were 83 students of biology education FKIP UIR in the academic years 2020/2022. Data collection for this study uses lifts and interviews. The racket consists of 7 indicators with 36 declaration items. Data analysis techniques used quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of the research revealed that students’ perception of biology education FKIP UIR towards the understanding of the curriculum MBKM was based on the general requirements indicator around 71.8% with good category, on the performance indicators 69.58%, on the form-shapes of learning activities 72.8% with good category, on mechanisms of learning activity of 71.02% with good category, on quality assurance indicators for 69.8% with good category, on monitoring categories around 71.24%, and on the rating indicator around 72.01% with good category. It can be concluded that students’ perception towards the understanding of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka curriculum at biology education FKIP in Universitas Islam Riau on the good category with a percentage of 71%.
