Abstract

Narcotics abuse in Indonesia is very rampant. This can be seen from the increasing number of users of these illicit goods from various circles and their circulation continues to increase, especially among adults who have certain factors to use these narcotics. The formulation of the problem in this research is what are the factors that cause Narcotics Crime in the Pangkalan Kerinci Police Legal Area and what are the penal measures for Narcotics Crime in the Pangkalan Kerinci Police Legal Area. The research method that the author uses in this research is an empirical legal research method. which was carried out by means of a survey, namely direct research using data collection tools in the form of interviews. This research is a descriptive analytical method, this method is used to see the legal reality that exists in society. Based on the results of the research and discussion, the writer found that the factors that cause people to use narcotics are environmental factors, family factors and dependency factors. And Law Enforcement carried out by the Pangkalan Kerinci Police in eradicating Narcotics Crime carries out Law Enforcement against perpetrators of narcotics crimes by first seeking information about perpetrators of narcotics abuse and then starting to arrest perpetrators who own, store, use and sell narcotics, the Base Police In detail, after making these efforts, he handed over the case file to the Pelalawan Police, and the Sector Police coordinated with the Pelalawan Police to arrange for it to be carried out immediately in order to find out whether the suspect would be rehabilitated or detained with a prison sentence.
