Abstract

In the midst of rapid economic progress, business activities for business owners are growing. Even in everyday life, the community has been given an alternative with the many Mini Markets that exist. People are no longer difficult to fulfill their daily needs, but there is a problem, namely business actors who are not responsible for consumer losses caused by employee negligence which can harm consumers and this violates the regulations of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. The main problem in this study is how legal protection for consumers carried out by Mini Market Bunda business actors against consumer losses caused by employee negligence, according to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and what are the factors in shaping consumer protection in Mini Market Bunda This study aims to determine how the form of legal protection and what is the responsibility of Mini Market Bunda to consumers according to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. This research uses sociology (Empirical) legal research methods, which are descriptive, while the data collection tools in this research are through interviews. From the results of the study, it is known that the form of consumer protection carried out by Mini Market Bunda is that business actors must carry out their obligations for losses received by consumers in accordance with Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and also the inhibiting factors, namely business actors do not listen to the complaints of consumers and business actors are not responsible for consumers and consumers do not understand Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and also business actors pay less attention to price tags so that consumers feel disadvantaged by the latest prices.
