Abstract

Illocutionary Speech Acts in Buya Yahya's Religious Lecture on Youtube Al-Bahjah TV This research was motivated by illocutionary speech acts in Buya Yahya's lecture on Al-Bahjah TV YouTube. Researchers are interested in researching this because among the three types of speech acts that are dominant in the study of pragmatics are illocutionary speech acts. The problem in this research is what are the illocutionary speech acts in Buya Yahya's lecture on Al-Bahjah TV YouTube. The aim of this research is to describe, analyze, interpret and conclude the types of illocutionary speech acts in Buya Yahya's lectures on Al-Bahjah TV YouTube. This research is the theory of illocutionary speech acts presented by Searle. The approach taken in this research is a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive research method. The data used in this research is a text transcript from Buya Yahya's lecture on Al-Bahjah TV YouTube. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of documentation techniques, listening techniques and notetaking techniques. The data analysis technique used in this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis technique using the theory of Miles and Huberman (1984). The results of this research are five types of illocutionary speech acts found, namely, (1) assertive illocutionary speech acts with 50 data, (2) directive speech acts with 50 data, (3) commissive illocutionary speech acts with 12 data, (4) act expressive illocutionary speech acts totaling 11 data, and (5) declarative illocutionary speech acts totaling 1 data. The conclusion of this research is that the types of speech acts most often used by speakers in Buya Yahya's lectures are assertive and directive illocutionary speech acts. This is because the speaker is trying to convey information about children's education in Islam and influence or influence the speaker to take the desired actions according to the lecture being delivered.
