Abstract
Theft with violence is a crime against another person's property that is taken by force, in which the criminal not only takes another person's things, but also conducts violence against the owner of the items. Theft with violence is described as theft preceding, accompanying, or following physical violence or the threat of physical violence against persons. The prevalence of violent theft suggests that police efforts to prevent these incidents have not been entirely successful. The research questions are as follows: first, what are the elements that induce theft with violence in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru Police? Second, how are the police efforts in combating theft with violence in the jurisdiction of the Pekanbaru Police? The author's research method is a type of empirical sociological research method, notably non-doctrinal or survey research, with surveys conducted directly in the field. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature, with data drawn from both primary and secondary sources. The author applies the inductive thinking process to reach conclusions, in which a general statement is turned into a specific statement or proposition. According to the research and debate findings, the Pekanbaru City Police attempted to combat theft with violence in the following ways: violence. Routine patrols by Polres and local Polsek, direct pleas by Babinkabtibnas, and appeals in the form of posters and social medical broadcasts were among the preventive efforts taken by the Pekanbaru City Police. When a crime/crime of theft with violence occurs, the Pekanbaru City Resort Police take hard action in the form of law enforcement until the crime/crime of theft with violence is completed. Obstacles Constraints on the Pekanbaru City Police's capacity to combat theft crimes with violence: Legal issues, law enforcement factors, and institutions or facilities that assist law enforcement. Furthermore, obstacles include a lack of available cash for carrying out tasks and a lack of personnel members to manage issues. Community factors, such as a lack of participation in safeguarding their respective ecosystems, contribute to theft with violence occurring at any time.
