Abstract

This study intends to find out how the Blue Light Patrol is in preventing crime in Pekanbaru City (a study at the Sukajadi Police in Pekanbaru City). The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through documentation, interviews and observation. This research uses crime prevention theory. The results of this study are Sukajadi Police Patrol at night can be said to run very well in order to reduce crime at night because at every point the police and the community always make reports and fellow police communicate by air through Hand Talk (HT) and work together with the community who patrol the night patrol posts, by recording in a book by recording all patrol activities which will be a record of results reports at night then filling out reports that carry out patrols every day with the number of members, sometimes four people, three or two people but at least two people who carry out blue light patrols. While the morning blue light patrol schedule is from 9.00 to 17.00 WIB. For night pickets from 20.00 to 02.00 WIB with 2 permanent members. The patrol equipment, namely the patrol car and the patrol equipment, the members carry their own equipment.
