Abstract

This study discusses the Efforts to Handle Child Victims of Sexual Violence in Indragiri Hulu Regency in handling cases of sexual violence, namely in children. This study aims to find out how the Department of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of Indragiri Hulu Regency deals with victims of sexual violence. The method used in this study was qualitative, namely with a descriptive approach by conducting interviews with key informants and the informants in this study were the Head of UPTD – PPA DP3A, DP3A Psychologist, Child Victims of Sexual Violence and Parents of Victims. The results of this study indicate that the efforts given by the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection can work as they should. From receiving victim complaints, managing cases, assisting victims, outreach and temporary shelter in shelters. However, there is a need for a level of public awareness of the threat of sexual violence against children and the need to erect banners about the threat of sexual violence in areas prone to crime and in villages with minimal sex education.
