Abstract

The prosecutor's intelligence operation is one of the efforts, activities and actions carried out by the prosecutor's office to uncover criminal acts of corruption. The stages of the legal process in handling criminal acts of corruption start from investigations to legal remedies. Even though the Prosecutor's Office has the authority to conduct investigations based on the law, in practice it is not easy for the Prosecutor's Office to obtain findings on acts of corruption. This is due to limited personnel or human resources, especially the Intelligence Prosecutors on duty and the modus operandi of corruption which is usually neatly supported by the intellectuality of the potential suspects and the people around them who protect them. The main issues in this study are: What is the Role of Intelligence in Handling Corruption at the Pekanbaru District Attorney's Office and the Obstacles the Pekanbaru District Attorney's Office has experienced in the Intelligence Sector in Handling or Eradicating Corruption in Pekanbaru. The research method used in this study was observational research which was carried out by means of a survey, namely by direct research to research locations using data collection tools in the form of interviews. And this research is descriptive in nature, which provides a clear and detailed description of the main problem under study The role of the Pekanbaru District Attorney's Intelligence in disclosing allegations of corruption, namely carrying out activities and operations of judicial intelligence or investigations to collect data or information that can be used as evidence about whether or not a criminal act of corruption has occurred, which is then submitted to the leadership or interested parties for next decision. In addition to playing a role in terms of intelligence investigations, the Pekanbaru District Attorney's Office also plays a role in supervising government and regional development, which is called the Regional Government and Development Monitoring and Supervision Team (TP4D). owned by the Intelligence Section of the Pekanbaru District Prosecutor's Office, a slow bureaucratic system, limited facilities and infrastructure, increasingly sophisticated crime modus operandi and limited budgetary funds provided while many cases must be handled.
